Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 15 June 2026
FindLawyer.lk ("we", "us", or "our") respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to permanently delete your FindLawyer.lk account and all associated personal information — including any data we received when you chose to sign in with Facebook or Google.
How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data in either of the following ways:
- Email us. Send an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Data Deletion Request". To help us locate your account quickly, please tell us the name on the account and (if you used social login) whether you signed up with Facebook or Google.
- While logged in. If you can access your account, you may also email the request from your registered address — this confirms ownership and lets us action it faster.
No account is required to make a request: if you signed in with Facebook or Google and can no longer access the account, email us from the address linked to that provider and we will verify and proceed.
What gets deleted
Once your identity is confirmed, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login credentials, including any linked Facebook or Google sign-in connection.
- Your profile information (client or lawyer profile, photo, contact details, bio).
- Inquiries you sent to lawyers, reviews and comments you posted, and saved items.
- The name, email address and profile picture we received from Facebook or Google.
Removing the Facebook connection yourself
If you only want to disconnect FindLawyer.lk from your Facebook account (without deleting your FindLawyer data), open Facebook and go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, then remove "FindLawyer". To also delete the data we hold, please send a deletion request as described above.
Timeframe
We acknowledge every request within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. We may retain a limited set of records where we are legally required to do so (for example, to comply with Sri Lankan law), after which those records are also deleted.
Contact
